As the founder of Loomni, I wanted to create an app that helps professionals take better notes.

Development

I was the sole designer on this project as this was my product I founded. I worked with Crowdbotics developers to bring the app to life. Throughout the process I worked with a product manager and a few developers who worked on the front and back-end of the product.

Process

1. Understand what I'm trying to build, who my target audience is, and what are the business objectives.

2. Competitor and comparative analysis or audit.

3. Low-mid fidelity wire-framing and / or sketching.

4. Journey mapping & Architecture mapping of the initial app

5. Final design

6. Developer hand-off and trial and error launching on both Apple & Google play

I worked with my developers to have a seamless authentication flow. All the options are upfront, however allowing the user to still have an email option. Once you sign up we send the user to check their email for a link.

Outcome

— I launched the app to the Apple app store and the Google play store. It was a difficult launch because we had a lot of issues with Apple rejecting the app due to some features not aligning with them. So we needed to rebuild and resubmit to the app store at least 5-6 time before we could get it launched.

— Development took a while as some features like transcription, exporting, and running the Unsplash API took a while.

— I ran a few beta / alpha runs with small test groups to get an understanding of what works, what could be better and what can we focus on later. I learned a lot has to do with how things are built from a dev perspective. So I needed to address these overtime after launching.
